Pets are companions that you can equip, and that help you in battle with their unique looks and charisma, even if they don't directly participate in combat.

They will gain Experience with you and become more powerful the longer you have them equipped.

Artifacts are powerful items that give unique abilities when equipped. You can have a maximum of three artifacts equipped, and you use them by pressing the buttons they are assigned to.
Using an artifact costs souls and many artifacts have cooldown periods between uses.
Different artifacts work in different ways; some are one-shot that trigger directly, some are channeling continuously, and some charge a big effect at the end. Use them wisely!
Progress related to quests, level, and item drops will not be saved for you if the party leader has significantly higher progress than yours. Quests marked with this icon won't save progress. You will still be able to experience all the game features together.
You can play with a friend with similar progression as yours, matchmake, or play solo to advance your progression.
An echo shard is a resource dropped by defeated soul corrupted mobs and bosses, which can be used to apply enchantments to gear at an Enchantsmith. Merchants are also upgraded by using echo shards.
An emerald is a resource used to purchase and upgrade items. They are dropped from chests and defeated mobs. You can also use emeralds with a blacksmith to upgrade gear to higher levels.
An enchantment point is a resource used to apply enchantments to gear. They are gained by leveling up. Your Hero will start with no enchantment points and will gain one per level up to a maximum of 99. Enchanted books can be applied to gear by using an enchantment point at an enchantsmith.
Food can be dropped by artifacts, chests, and defeated mobs, and are auto-consumable items that instantly heal your Hero when used.

Accounts Required to Play Minecraft Dungeons II Online Multiplayer
Note: For cross-platform progression, you’ll need to link your Microsoft account.
Some Minecraft experiences allow you to connect accounts across platforms and services. Linking accounts can enable features such as cross-platform progression and access to account-based content.
Account linking connects your platform account to another account used by Minecraft services.
This allows certain profile information and account-based content to be associated with the linked account experience.

Switching accounts in Minecraft Dungeons II affects progress, character ownership, and cross-play depending on whether you're using online multiplayer or local multiplayer.
If you accidentally log into Minecraft Dungeons II with the wrong Microsoft/Xbox account, you can usually sign out and switch accounts, but in some cases, you may need to remove saved credentials or refresh the in-game login.
Note: Always double-check which Microsoft account you’re signing in to before launching the game and remove old credentials if you think the wrong account is stored. This will prevent the game from auto-selecting the wrong profile.

Minecraft Dungeons II DLC is licensed separately for each platform, so you must buy it on the same platform you want to play on. It does not automatically transfer between consoles, PC, or other devices.
Cross-Play lets you play with friends on other platforms, but DLC is still platform-specific unless the game explicitly supports “Cross-DLC” (which Minecraft Dungeons II currently does not).
In multiplayer, only the host needs to own the DLC for that session’s DLC missions/items to be available to all players. However, if you want to access DLC content on your own account outside of hosting, you must own it on that platform.

Progress can also be saved when you access the Map screen and scroll to System at the top of the screen. You can select Save and exit to main menu or Save and quit to desktop to save your progress.
Online vs. Offline Characters
Your character progression is tied to your account and can be accessed across supported platforms when you're signed in with the same profile.
Whether you're connected to online services, or playing offline, your character progress is associated with your account. This allows you to continue playing on other supported devices using the same profile.
Only one active game session can be connected to your account at a time. If you sign in on another device, you'll be prompted to sign out of your current session.
Offline characters are stored both online and offline during play. Your progress is shared across devices when you use the same account. When you reconnect, your progress may synchronize with your online profile.
To help ensure your progress is available across devices:
If you play offline on multiple devices, different versions of your character progress can exist. In some cases, progress made on one device may not appear on another.
For the best experience, reconnect to online services and allow synchronization to complete before continuing your game on another device.

If you have a hero that you have put a lot of hard work into building up in Minecraft Dungeons II, you should be able to continue using them even if you are playing the game on a different platform. Luckily, Minecraft Dungeons II has cloud saves.
When Cloud Save is ON, your offline heroes’ progress is synced with the cloud. In the event of a conflict, the system will select the appropriate save across devices and sessions.
Turn this OFF to prevent any automatic cloud selection or syncing. This can avoid unintended overwrites or conflicts when multiple devices use the same character at the same time or when you haven’t had a chance to sync.
With this setting OFF, the game will only store your offline heroes locally, and you will not be able to access progress from other devices.
Note: this will only impact offline heroes; online heroes will always be synced to the cloud.
After a Hero has been uploaded to the cloud in Minecraft Dungeons II, it will sync with another platform if you are signed into the same account and have Cloud Saves turned ON.
Note: If you are logged into one platform and then sign into another, you will receive the following message:

Too Many Devices: You were logged out from this session because your account logged in on another device.
Your Hero and all of their gear will become available when the download is completed.
Minecraft Dungeons II saves character progression through a combination of local save files and optional cloud saves via your platform account, allowing cross-platform progression when set up manually.
Each character’s data is stored locally on your device in a .dat file inside your user’s save file. On Windows, for example, the path is:

These files contain all progression data, including items, enchantments, mission unlocks, camp merchants, and more. If you uninstall the game or lose access to your local save data, you can back it up from this folder and restore it later.
Minecraft Dungeons II supports cloud saves so you can sync characters on all platforms.
Note: If you are playing with an offline character, you will see a notification on the main menu that you are Playing Offline. In addition, the Join a Party option on the main menu will be grayed out, and you won’t be able to select it.
You will not be able to change the Online/Offline setting after creating your character, so make sure to choose wisely when creating them.
You can use Minecraft Dungeons II’s Cloud Save feature to download your Heroes to another device if you are signed into a shared account.

Team up with friends across consoles and PCs. Create a multiplatform alliance and battle together with the cross-platform Minecraft Dungeons II. This allows for cross-platform multiplayer playing across Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation® 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Minecraft Dungeons II can be played online with 2-4 players. The game’s difficulty will change based on how many players are within the game, becoming more difficult with each friend that joins. You can also start an online game by yourself and have others join your quest for glory while your game is in progress.
To play online multiplayer and cross-platform play in Minecraft Dungeons II:

If you're trying to join a friend's session but it's not working, you may need to use a Party Code instead of adding them as a friend, since matchmaking doesn't let you choose who you get.
All players must be on the same game version (latest update) and have cross-play enabled. Version mismatches or outdated builds can block connections. For cross-platform play (PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch), each player needs an active subscription to access online play.
Important Notes:
If you want to keep your party private, disable matchmaking in the lobby settings so only players with your code can join.
If your Party Code isn't working in Minecraft Dungeons II, it's usually due to one of a few common issues - many of which also affect friend sessions, since Party Codes and matchmaking use the same connection system.
All players must have an active online service subscription. If any player's subscription is expired or inactive, the connection will fail.
For cross-play, everyone must be on the same version of Minecraft Dungeons II. Version mismatches can block joining, even if both are updated.
On Xbox, make sure your account is set to allow joining multiplayer games, and that your age/family settings aren't blocking access. On other platforms, check privacy settings to allow online sessions.
Session Setup

You can combine two local players with two online players, but all must be in the same session.
In Minecraft Dungeons II, the party leader role is tied to the Party Finder system. If you're unable to promote a Party Leader, it could be due to one of the following issues:
In the Party Finder, only the person who creates the party can make themselves or another player the leader. If you're not the creator, you won't be able to promote anyone. You could join an existing party and then request a leader change from the party owner.
The \"party leader\" status is specific to the Party Finder dungeon queue, not the main dungeon finder. If you try to queue into a dungeon as a leader but the party isn't properly set up in Party Finder, the system may not allow the promotion.
Party Finder has a limit of up to four players, and all members must be online and in the same session. If someone is offline or the party is incomplete, the leader role can't be applied.

Minecraft Dungeons II launches September 29, 2026. If you pre-order the game by September 28, 2026, you'll receive limited-time bonus cosmetics when the game launches.
Pre-order the Standard Edition, which includes the base game, and get these pre-order bonus cosmetics: two additional Hero Skins, the Twisted Cape, and the Twisted Chicken Pet.
Pre-order the Deluxe Edition, which includes everything in the Standard Edition, and you'll also get the Soul Cape, the Blub Pet, four additional Hero Skins, and access to two post-launch DLC packs when they become available.
You can only get the pre-order rewards, which will be delivered after the game launches on September 29, 2026, for qualifying purchases made during the pre-order period. They are created for Minecraft Dungeons II and cannot be used in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, Minecraft: Java Edition, or other Minecraft games.
After the content is granted on launch day, September 29, 2026, open the in-game inventory and select the Collectibles tab to find your capes, pets, and Hero Skins.
Pre-order and Deluxe Edition content is tied to the platform where it was purchased. Connecting a Steam account and a Microsoft account does not make the rewards available on every platform.
For digital purchases, the content is automatically granted to the account that completes the pre-order. If the game is intended for a child or another player, purchase or gift it for the account that should own the game and rewards; an existing pre-order generally cannot be transferred between accounts.
Minecraft Dungeons II will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-order rewards are also available through Steam for qualifying purchases.
Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 are separate platform versions. Before purchasing from a retailer, make sure that the product listing supports the Nintendo Switch model you plan to use. A Nintendo Switch 2 version should not be assumed to work on a Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite unless the retailer or platform listing specifically says it is compatible.
Minecraft Dungeons II will be available with Game Pass on launch day. Game Pass access is not a pre-order purchase, so it does not include the pre-order bonus cosmetics. If a store says you already own the game, your active Game Pass entitlement may be the reason.
Players who purchase the Standard Edition can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition after purchase. Any available upgrade price, discount, or purchase option is set by the store where the game was purchased.
The Deluxe Edition includes two specified post-launch DLC packs. Pricing for any other future content will be announced separately if additional content is offered.
Pre-order content for physical editions depends on the retailer. Before buying, check the product listing or ask the retailer whether the physical copy includes a pre-order code and how that code will be delivered. Digital purchases grant qualifying content directly to the purchasing account after Minecraft Dungeons II launches on September 29, 2026.
If you are gifting the game, confirm the store’s gifting rules before purchase. The recipient must redeem or own the qualifying purchase on the account and platform where they plan to play.
Some storefronts do not charge for a pre-order immediately. Billing timing and payment authorization are controlled by the store where the order was placed. Check the order status, payment method, and expected charge date in that store’s purchase history.
If a pre-order page does not load or returns an error, verify that the game is available for pre-order in your region and on your selected platform, then try the purchase again from the platform’s store. If the Nintendo eShop does not show the pre-order, refresh the store listing and confirm you are viewing the correct regional store and console version.
Confirm that you launched the game with the account and platform used for the qualifying purchase. Then check the Collectibles tab in the in-game inventory. Also verify that the pre-order or Deluxe content appears in the platform’s order history or installed add-ons. If the entitlement is missing from the order, use the purchase-help options provided by that storefront.
Pre-order cancellation and refund rules vary by platform and retailer. Use the order-management or refund options for the store where the purchase was made.
Detailed gameplay mechanics, and any content beyond the announced editions and DLC will be communicated through official Minecraft channels when that information is available.

These Official Rules (“Rules”) govern the operation of the Microsoft Minecraft Movie Build Challenge Contest (“Contest”). Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA, 98052, USA, is the Contest sponsor (“Microsoft” or “Sponsor”). Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. (“Warner Bros.”) is a contest party, but is not involved in the administration or execution of this Contest.
2. DEFINITIONS
In these Rules, \"we\", \"our\", and \"us\" refer to Microsoft/Sponsor and “you” and \"yourself\" refers to a Contest participant, or the parent/legal guardian of any Contest entrant who has not reached the age of majority to contractually obligate themselves in their legal place of residence. By entering you (your parent/legal guardian if you are not the age of majority in your legal place of residence) agree to be bound by these Rules.
3. ENTRY PERIOD
The Contest starts at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) on May 30, 2026, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on July 6, 2026 (“Entry Period”), and will consist of multiple phases as follows:

4. ELIGIBILITY
To enter, you must be sixteen (16) years of age or older. If you are sixteen (16) years of age or older but have not reached the age of majority in your legal place of residence, then you must have consent of a parent/legal guardian to enter. Microsoft: Bedrock Edition (sold separately) is required to enter.
Employees and directors of Microsoft Corporation, Warner Bros., and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising agencies, and Contest Parties are not eligible, nor are persons involved in the execution or administration of this Contest, or the family members of each above (parents, children, siblings, spouse/domestic partners, or individuals residing in the same household). Void in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Region of Crimea, Russia, and where otherwise prohibited by law.

The entry limit is one (1) per person overall. Any attempt by you to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different accounts, email addresses, identities, registrations, logins, or any other methods will void your entries and you may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited.
We are not responsible for excess, lost, late, or incomplete entries. If disputed, entries will be deemed submitted by the “authorized account holder” of the email address, social media account, or other method used to enter. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned to an email address by an internet or online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses.

However, by submitting an entry, you grant us an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to use, review, assess, test and otherwise analyze your entry and all its content in connection with this Contest and use your entry in any media whatsoever now known or later invented for any non-commercial or commercial purpose, including, but not limited to, the marketing, sale or promotion of Microsoft and Minecraft products (including Minecraft movies and other Minecraft entertainment media) or services, without further permission from you. You will not receive any compensation or credit for use of your entry, other than what is described in these Official Rules. If selected as a winner, you may be required to grant Microsoft and/or Warner Bros. additional license rights to use your Build, in order to receive the full benefit of some elements of the Prize.

8. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
Entries will be judged in three (3) phases, as described below:
8.1 Initial Judging Phase. Pending confirmation of eligibility, fifteen (15) potential semifinalists (“Semifinalists”) will be selected by Microsoft, our designated agent, or a qualified judging panel from among all eligible entries received based on the following judging criteria (“Judging Criteria”):
In the event of a tie between any eligible entries, an additional judge will break the tie based on the judging criteria described above. The decisions of the judges are final and binding. If we do not receive enough entries meeting the entry requirements, we may, at our discretion, select fewer Semifinalists than stated above. Following selection, we will contact the Semifinalists with a request for additional information necessary to place your entry in contention for a Finalist Prize and a Grand Prize. If a selected Semifinalist cannot be contacted or fails to respond by the deadline stated in the initial notice, the selected Semifinalist will forfeit their position and an alternate Semifinalist will be selected.
8.2 Second Judging Phase. During the Second Judging Phase, three (3) finalists (“Finalists”) will be selected by Microsoft, our designated agent, or a qualified judging panel from among the Semifinalists based on the Judging Criteria. In the event of a tie between any eligible entries, an additional judge will break the tie based on the judging criteria described above. The decisions of the judges are final and binding. If we do not receive enough entries meeting the entry requirements, we may, at our discretion, select fewer Finalists than stated above. Following selection, we will contact the Finalists to inform them of their selection and with a request for additional information necessary to award them a finalist prize.
8.3 Final Voting Phase. During the Final Voting Phase, we may invite players with a compatible Minecraft game and a valid Microsoft Account to vote for the winning Build by accessing the official Minecraft Server named Minecraft Movie Build Challenge Community Voting and following the instructions to cast their vote. For a vote to count, the voter must have (a) Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (sold separately), (b) a valid Microsoft account in good standing, and (c) Internet access while casting the vote. Some consoles may require platform subscription fees for online multiplayer access. The Build with the most votes at the end of the Final Voting Phase will be declared the Grand Prize winner.
Each voter may only cast a maximum of one (1) vote for each entry, all additional votes cast by the same person in excess of the voting limit will be void. Any vote obtained by any fraudulent, inappropriate, or unsportsmanlike means, including providing incentives to voters, using any automated program to gain multiple votes, creating multiple identities, or any other methods based on our sole determination, will be void. Any entrant who Microsoft, in its sole and absolute discretion, determines has engaged in such conduct may be disqualified from the Contest.
In the event of a tie between any eligible entries, the Grand Prize winner will be selected by the judging panel from between the tied entries. The decisions of the judges are final and binding. If we do not receive enough entries meeting the entry requirements, we may, at our discretion, select fewer Grand Prize winners than the number of Grand Prizes described below.
We reserve the right to make modifications to voting process in the Final Voting Phase at our discretion at any time and for any reason (including, without limitation, for technical reasons), in which case Microsoft will publicly state its updated process for the Final Voting Phase in a publicly available social media or blog post.
8.4 General. Potential Grand Prize winners will be notified via direct message on Gleam no more than seven (7) days following judging with prize claim instructions, including submission deadlines. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize or fails to return any forms, the selected Grand Prize winner will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected. If you are a potential Grand Prize winner and you are eighteen (18) years of age or older but have not reached the age of majority in your legal place of residence, we may require your parent/legal guardian to sign all required forms on your behalf. Only three (3) alternate winners will be selected, after which unclaimed prizes will remain unawarded.

The winner is solely responsible for all other expenses not specifically set forth herein, including, but not limited to, transportation to and from the screening. In the event the winner and/or his/her guests engage in behavior that (as determined by Microsoft or any prize provider (including Warner Bros.) in its or their sole and absolute discretion) is obnoxious, inappropriate, or threatening, illegal or that is intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, Microsoft and Warner Bros. reserve the right to terminate the screening experience early. Winner and guests must comply with venue and Warner Bros’ security requirements. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $6,500.00 USD.

Your Build will be guaranteed inclusion in the final edited version of the Sequel as initially released. Warner Bros. and the Sequel’s director will decide, in their sole and absolute discretion: (a) whether to make modifications to the version of your Build included in the Sequel based on timing, budgetary, legal, and other creative considerations, and (b) the placement of the Build within the Sequel (which placement, for the avoidance of doubt, may be in the end credits of the Sequel). For the avoidance of doubt and without in any way limiting any other provision of these Rules, by submitting an entry, you grant Warner Bros. an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to use your Build (including a modified version of your Build) in and in connection with the Sequel, including without limitation in and in connection with any prequels or sequels thereto, including in and in connection with the advertising, marketing, promotion, distribution and other exploitation of any or all of the foregoing, in any and all media worldwide in perpetuity. Credit, if any, shall be at Warner Bros.’s sole discretion. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $0.00 USD.

The ARV of electronic prizes is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things, any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of these Official Rules and the date the prize is awarded or redeemed. We will determine the value of the prize to be the fair market value at the time of prize award.

We will only award one (1) prize per person during the Entry Period. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. Prize winner may be required to complete and return prize claim and/or tax forms (“Forms”) within the deadline stated in the winner notification. Taxes on the prize, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner, who is advised to seek independent counsel regarding the tax implications of accepting a prize. By accepting a prize, you agree that Microsoft and Warner Bros. may use your entry, name, image and hometown online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with this Contest without payment or compensation to you, except where prohibited by law.

11. GENERAL CONDITIONS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Gleam or YouTube. The information you provide will only be used for administering the Contest and to contact you if you are a winner, or as otherwise outlined in section 12 (Privacy) below.
To the extent allowed by law, by entering you agree to release and hold harmless Microsoft, Warner Bros. and each of their respective parents, partners, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, and agents from any and all liability or any injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising in connection with this Contest or any prize won. In no event shall any entrant seek or be entitled to rescission, injunctive or other equitable relief or to enjoin or restrain the operation or exploitation of this Contest, A Minecraft Movie, the Sequel, any advertising or other materials issued in connection with this Contest, A Minecraft Movie, or the Sequel.
All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. In the event of a dispute, the decisions of Microsoft are final and binding.
We reserve the right to cancel, change, or suspend this Contest for any reason without prior notice, including, but not limited to, cheating, technology failure, catastrophe, war, or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that affects the integrity of this Contest, whether human or mechanical. If the integrity of the Contest cannot be restored, we may select winners from among all eligible entries received before we had to cancel, change or suspend the Contest.
If you attempt or we have strong reason to believe that you have compromised the integrity or the legitimate operation of this Contest by cheating, hacking, creating a bot or other automated program, or by committing fraud in any way, we may seek damages from you to the full extent of the law and you may be banned from participation in future Microsoft promotions.
12. PRIVACY
Personal data you provide to Microsoft while entering this Contest will be used by Microsoft and/or its agents and prize fulfillers acting on Microsoft’s behalf only for the administration and operation of this Contest and in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
13. GOVERNING LAW
This Contest will be governed by the laws of the State of Washington, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts of the State of Washington for any disputes arising out of this Contest.

You can join a party by either accepting an invite or joining an open party from the social menu.

Party members will receive a prompt to move to the same world as the party leader after they join a world. Parties are currently supported on all Minecraft: Bedrock platforms, except Android and iOS (coming soon!).

If you need to rollback a Minecraft: Bedrock Edition world to before you enabled add-ons, a build was destroyed, or achievements were disabled, you can restore a previous backup or recreate your world from its world seed.
Restore an automatic backup to reset your world to the point in time the backup was made. If you have automatic backups enabled through your console, follow the steps in these articles to restore an existing save file:
If you have a manual world backup, restore it by moving your backup file to the location of your current world files as described in the article for your platform:

If you don't have a backup with your builds but like a world map you were playing, use a world seed to restore your world to its original state. Creating a world from a seed will not restore any progress, but it will let you play through a familiar world.
We’re making a small change to improve Realms stability.
Recently, we discovered that a small number of Realms used the server-admin scripting module in creative ways and at a commercial scale that is incompatible with Realms technical architecture and the Microsoft Services Agreement. As this usage grew, it placed sustained load on the service and contributed to the recent instability and outages players experienced.
What’s changing
To improve the Realms experience, Realms will no longer support the server-admin scripting module.
Joining and playing on Realms will continue to work normally, but experiences that relied on the sever-admin scripting module may no longer function in the same way.
Why we’re making this change
Realms is designed to help bring together friends and small communities to play together.
Realms is not intended to be used for very large or commercial operations. This type of usage creates growth patterns and system load that impact overall service stability, especially during peak play times.
Who will be affected?
Most players won’t notice any change.
A very small subset of Realms that relied on the server-admin scripting module as part of their setup may be affected.
How this helps going forward
Removing the server-admin scripting module allows us to better manage scale and performance, and will help Realms be more stable and reliable for everyone.
