If you need to rollback a Minecraft: Bedrock Edition world to before you enabled add-ons, a build was destroyed, or achievements were disabled, you can restore a previous backup or recreate your world from its world seed.
Restore an automatic backup to reset your world to the point in time the backup was made. If you have automatic backups enabled through your console or Minecraft Realms, follow the steps in these articles to restore an existing save file:
If you have a manual world backup, restore it by moving your backup file to the location of your current world files as described in the article for your platform:
If you don't have a backup with your builds but like a world map you were playing, use a world seed to restore your world to its original state. Creating a world from a seed will not restore any progress, but it will let you play through a familiar world.
We’re making a small change to improve Realms stability.
Recently, we discovered that a small number of Realms used the server-admin scripting module in creative ways and at a commercial scale that is incompatible with Realms technical architecture and the Microsoft Services Agreement. As this usage grew, it placed sustained load on the service and contributed to the recent instability and outages players experienced.
What’s changing
To improve the Realms experience, Realms will no longer support the server-admin scripting module.
Joining and playing on Realms will continue to work normally, but experiences that relied on the sever-admin scripting module may no longer function in the same way.
Why we’re making this change
Realms is designed to help bring together friends and small communities to play together.
Realms is not intended to be used for very large or commercial operations. This type of usage creates growth patterns and system load that impact overall service stability, especially during peak play times.
Who will be affected?
Most players won’t notice any change.
A very small subset of Realms that relied on the server-admin scripting module as part of their setup may be affected.
How this helps going forward
Removing the server-admin scripting module allows us to better manage scale and performance, and will help Realms be more stable and reliable for everyone.

GLFW error 65542: WGL: The driver does not appear to support OpenGL
This error appears when your device's graphics driver does not support OpenGL, which Java Edition requires to run. You can fix this error with a compatibility pack.
When textures from resource packs do not load properly, Java Edition replaces them with pink and black checkered boxes. To restore missing textures, you may need to remove and then re-apply those resource packs. If available, we recommend re-downloading the packs from their source and replacing them in your pack folder. Follow these steps to access your pack folder and replace the texture files:
Garbage collection is a Java memory management tool that helps improve game performance. Beginning with Minecraft: Java Edition version 26.1-snapshot-1, the default garbage collector has changed. If you experience performance issues, you may want to switch back to the previous garbage collector.
When there’s an update for the Minecraft Launcher, it will normally download and install automatically when you open it. If the Launcher freezes or stalls while updating, here are suggestions to fix it.
If your launcher update still doesn’t complete after the Repair and Reset process, reset the Microsoft Store to fix other background processes the Launcher needs to update.
Minecraft uses Xbox services to deliver game updates. Running the Gaming Services Repair Tool can fix issues with updating the Launcher or Minecraft.

You may see unexpected behaviors if you use multiple Add-Ons in Minecraft, especially if they modify the same Minecraft asset.
For example, if you have two resource packs that modify how birch trees appear, the resource pack at the top of the list will take priority and determine their appearance—but this could conflict with another resource pack that depends on having birch trees appear in the way it expects.
When Add-Ons conflict with each other unexpectedly, it’s usually because they’re in the order you downloaded them. Here’s how to reorder Add-Ons to fix resource and behavior pack issues.

If the memory allocation for Minecraft: Java Edition doesn’t match your system’s available RAM or the game version requirements, you may experience performance issues, including crashes, lag, or stuttering.
You may want to change JVM arguments when:
For example, after version 26.1-snapshot-2, the default memory allocation for playing Minecraft: Java Edition changed from 2 GB to 4 GB. If your system has less than 4 GB of RAM, you need to manually change the allocated memory back to 2 GB to avoid crashes.
Memory allocation is editable in Java Edition by changing your JVM (Java Virtual Machine) arguments, accessed from the Minecraft Launcher. Always backup your Minecraft Worlds before troubleshooting or changing your game settings.
If you encounter errors when trying to launch Minecraft, compare the new value to the backup copy you made and check for syntax mistakes or case differences. You can return the JVM arguments field to its defaults by using the text file you created earlier and pasting its contents into the field. You can also revert changes if you Create a new Minecraft Java Installation to prevent game issues.

If you don’t want to see a player’s in-game chat messages, you can select Mute from the in-game social menu or Block them through the Xbox app. To learn more about the differences between these, see Differences Between Mute and Block.
You can mute a player in-game through the Social Interactions menu.
You can also mute or block a player from the Xbox app. Instructions are available at How to mute or block other players on Xbox on the Xbox support site. Locate the On the Xbox app header, expand it, and expand Block another player.

Unmuting or unblocking a player takes effect immediately: you will be able to see an unmuted player’s chat messages and an unblocked player will also be able to see your profile and send you invites again.
Muting or blocking a player will hide their chat messages in game or in servers—and blocking a player will also prevent them from seeing your activity or accepting/sending your invites. Muting or blocking a player will not prevent them from interacting with you in-game; you will still be able to see and interact with each other’s characters in any shared worlds or Realms.

Muting is useful if you don’t want to see chat messages from a player, but you still want to be friends, or you want to only temporarily ignore a player’s messages.
Blocking a player will clearly end interaction between you and the blocked player.
The Minecraft Support Virtual Agent, known as Merl, is a conversational AI agent designed to help Minecraft players with their support questions related to Minecraft. Merl takes text or voice-based questions from players and uses generative AI to search through trusted knowledge bases (such as articles on the Minecraft Help website) to find the best answers. A player visiting the Minecraft Help website will see the green chat bubble button in the lower right corner of their screen, which when clicked will show a floating container with the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent chat experience.
The Minecraft Support Virtual Agent leverages Minecraft Help Article content to help players with their support questions. While the Support Virtual Agent can help answer player questions using trusted knowledge resources and provide live updates from a handful of Xbox and Minecraft services, the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent cannot take any action on behalf of the player at this time. Instead, the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent will summarize action steps and point players to the support resources that they need. When presented with questions outside its knowledge base, the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent may not be able to provide accurate answers.
