1. SPONSOR
These Official Rules (“Rules”) govern the operation of the Microsoft Minecraft Movie Build Challenge Contest (“Contest”). Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA, 98052, USA, is the Contest sponsor (“Microsoft” or “Sponsor”). Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. (“Warner Bros.”) is a contest party, but is not involved in the administration or execution of this Contest.
2. DEFINITIONS
In these Rules, \"we\", \"our\", and \"us\" refer to Microsoft/Sponsor and “you” and \"yourself\" refers to a Contest participant, or the parent/legal guardian of any Contest entrant who has not reached the age of majority to contractually obligate themselves in their legal place of residence. By entering you (your parent/legal guardian if you are not the age of majority in your legal place of residence) agree to be bound by these Rules.
3. ENTRY PERIOD
The Contest starts at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time (“PT”) on May 30, 2026, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on July 6, 2026 (“Entry Period”), and will consist of multiple phases as follows:

4. ELIGIBILITY
To enter, you must be sixteen (16) years of age or older. If you are sixteen (16) years of age or older but have not reached the age of majority in your legal place of residence, then you must have consent of a parent/legal guardian to enter. Microsoft: Bedrock Edition (sold separately) is required to enter.
Employees and directors of Microsoft Corporation, Warner Bros., and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising agencies, and Contest Parties are not eligible, nor are persons involved in the execution or administration of this Contest, or the family members of each above (parents, children, siblings, spouse/domestic partners, or individuals residing in the same household). Void in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Region of Crimea, Russia, and where otherwise prohibited by law.

To create an entry, you must complete the following steps:

Entry Criteria and Terms: All elements as set forth above must be included to be eligible. The Gleam platform will be the official time clock for the Contest.
The entry limit is one (1) per person overall. Any attempt by you to obtain more than the stated number of entries by using multiple/different accounts, email addresses, identities, registrations, logins, or any other methods will void your entries and you may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited.
We are not responsible for excess, lost, late, or incomplete entries. If disputed, entries will be deemed submitted by the “authorized account holder” of the email address, social media account, or other method used to enter. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned to an email address by an internet or online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses.

We are not claiming ownership rights to your entry. However, by submitting an entry, you grant us an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to use, review, assess, test and otherwise analyze your entry and all its content in connection with this Contest and use your entry in any media whatsoever now known or later invented for any non-commercial or commercial purpose, including, but not limited to, the marketing, sale or promotion of Microsoft and Minecraft products (including Minecraft movies and other Minecraft entertainment media) or services, without further permission from you. You will not receive any compensation or credit for use of your entry, other than what is described in these Official Rules. If selected as a winner, you may be required to grant Microsoft and/or Warner Bros. additional license rights to use your Build, in order to receive the full benefit of some elements of the Prize.

Your entry may be posted on a public website. We are not responsible for any unauthorized use of your entry by visitors to this website. Neither we nor Warner Bros. are obligated to use your entry for any purpose, even if it has been selected as a winning entry.
8. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
Entries will be judged in three (3) phases, as described below:
8.1 Initial Judging Phase. Pending confirmation of eligibility, fifteen (15) potential semifinalists (“Semifinalists”) will be selected by Microsoft, our designated agent, or a qualified judging panel from among all eligible entries received based on the following judging criteria (“Judging Criteria”):
In the event of a tie between any eligible entries, an additional judge will break the tie based on the judging criteria described above. The decisions of the judges are final and binding. If we do not receive enough entries meeting the entry requirements, we may, at our discretion, select fewer Semifinalists than stated above. Following selection, we will contact the Semifinalists with a request for additional information necessary to place your entry in contention for a Finalist Prize and a Grand Prize. If a selected Semifinalist cannot be contacted or fails to respond by the deadline stated in the initial notice, the selected Semifinalist will forfeit their position and an alternate Semifinalist will be selected.
8.2 Second Judging Phase. During the Second Judging Phase, three (3) finalists (“Finalists”) will be selected by Microsoft, our designated agent, or a qualified judging panel from among the Semifinalists based on the Judging Criteria. In the event of a tie between any eligible entries, an additional judge will break the tie based on the judging criteria described above. The decisions of the judges are final and binding. If we do not receive enough entries meeting the entry requirements, we may, at our discretion, select fewer Finalists than stated above. Following selection, we will contact the Finalists to inform them of their selection and with a request for additional information necessary to award them a finalist prize.
8.3 Final Voting Phase. During the Final Voting Phase, we may invite players with a compatible Minecraft game and a valid Microsoft Account to vote for the winning Build by accessing the official Minecraft Server named Minecraft Movie Build Challenge Community Voting and following the instructions to cast their vote. For a vote to count, the voter must have (a) Minecraft: Bedrock Edition (sold separately), (b) a valid Microsoft account in good standing, and (c) Internet access while casting the vote. Some consoles may require platform subscription fees for online multiplayer access. The Build with the most votes at the end of the Final Voting Phase will be declared the Grand Prize winner.
Each voter may only cast a maximum of one (1) vote for each entry, all additional votes cast by the same person in excess of the voting limit will be void. Any vote obtained by any fraudulent, inappropriate, or unsportsmanlike means, including providing incentives to voters, using any automated program to gain multiple votes, creating multiple identities, or any other methods based on our sole determination, will be void. Any entrant who Microsoft, in its sole and absolute discretion, determines has engaged in such conduct may be disqualified from the Contest.
In the event of a tie between any eligible entries, the Grand Prize winner will be selected by the judging panel from between the tied entries. The decisions of the judges are final and binding. If we do not receive enough entries meeting the entry requirements, we may, at our discretion, select fewer Grand Prize winners than the number of Grand Prizes described below.
We reserve the right to make modifications to voting process in the Final Voting Phase at our discretion at any time and for any reason (including, without limitation, for technical reasons), in which case Microsoft will publicly state its updated process for the Final Voting Phase in a publicly available social media or blog post.
8.4 General. Potential Grand Prize winners will be notified via direct message on Gleam no more than seven (7) days following judging with prize claim instructions, including submission deadlines. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim a prize or fails to return any forms, the selected Grand Prize winner will forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be selected. If you are a potential Grand Prize winner and you are eighteen (18) years of age or older but have not reached the age of majority in your legal place of residence, we may require your parent/legal guardian to sign all required forms on your behalf. Only three (3) alternate winners will be selected, after which unclaimed prizes will remain unawarded.

Three (3) Finalist Prizes. In addition to the Semifinalist Prize, each Finalist Prize winner will also receive the following prize:
One (1) hometown screening of the Sequel for the winner and up to fifty (50) guests. Warner Bros. will determine the theater location and the date and time of screening, in its sole and absolute discretion. The winner is solely responsible for all other expenses not specifically set forth herein, including, but not limited to, transportation to and from the screening. In the event the winner and/or his/her guests engage in behavior that (as determined by Microsoft or any prize provider (including Warner Bros.) in its or their sole and absolute discretion) is obnoxious, inappropriate, or threatening, illegal or that is intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, Microsoft and Warner Bros. reserve the right to terminate the screening experience early. Winner and guests must comply with venue and Warner Bros’ security requirements. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $6,500.00 USD.
The total Approximate Retail Value of this Prize Package is $6,500.00 USD.
One (1) Grand Prize. In addition to the Semifinalist Prize and the Finalist Prize, the Grand Prize winner will also receive the following prize:
Your Build will be guaranteed inclusion in the final edited version of the Sequel as initially released. Warner Bros. and the Sequel’s director will decide, in their sole and absolute discretion: (a) whether to make modifications to the version of your Build included in the Sequel based on timing, budgetary, legal, and other creative considerations, and (b) the placement of the Build within the Sequel (which placement, for the avoidance of doubt, may be in the end credits of the Sequel). For the avoidance of doubt and without in any way limiting any other provision of these Rules, by submitting an entry, you grant Warner Bros. an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide right and license to use your Build (including a modified version of your Build) in and in connection with the Sequel, including without limitation in and in connection with any prequels or sequels thereto, including in and in connection with the advertising, marketing, promotion, distribution and other exploitation of any or all of the foregoing, in any and all media worldwide in perpetuity. Credit, if any, shall be at Warner Bros.’s sole discretion. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) $0.00 USD.
The total Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of this Package is $0.00 USD.
The ARV of electronic prizes is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things, any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of these Official Rules and the date the prize is awarded or redeemed. We will determine the value of the prize to be the fair market value at the time of prize award.
The total Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of all prizes: $20,700.00 USD.
We will only award one (1) prize per person during the Entry Period. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. No substitution, transfer, or assignment of prize permitted, except that Microsoft reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event the offered prize is unavailable.
Prize winner may be required to complete and return prize claim and/or tax forms (“Forms”) within the deadline stated in the winner notification. Taxes on the prize, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner, who is advised to seek independent counsel regarding the tax implications of accepting a prize. By accepting a prize, you agree that Microsoft and Warner Bros. may use your entry, name, image and hometown online and in print, or in any other media, in connection with this Contest without payment or compensation to you, except where prohibited by law.

The odds of winning are based on the number of eligible entries received.
11. GENERAL CONDITIONS AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Gleam or YouTube. The information you provide will only be used for administering the Contest and to contact you if you are a winner, or as otherwise outlined in section 12 (Privacy) below.
To the extent allowed by law, by entering you agree to release and hold harmless Microsoft, Warner Bros. and each of their respective parents, partners, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, and agents from any and all liability or any injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising in connection with this Contest or any prize won. In no event shall any entrant seek or be entitled to rescission, injunctive or other equitable relief or to enjoin or restrain the operation or exploitation of this Contest, A Minecraft Movie, the Sequel, any advertising or other materials issued in connection with this Contest, A Minecraft Movie, or the Sequel.
All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. In the event of a dispute, the decisions of Microsoft are final and binding.
We reserve the right to cancel, change, or suspend this Contest for any reason without prior notice, including, but not limited to, cheating, technology failure, catastrophe, war, or any other unforeseen or unexpected event that affects the integrity of this Contest, whether human or mechanical. If the integrity of the Contest cannot be restored, we may select winners from among all eligible entries received before we had to cancel, change or suspend the Contest.
If you attempt or we have strong reason to believe that you have compromised the integrity or the legitimate operation of this Contest by cheating, hacking, creating a bot or other automated program, or by committing fraud in any way, we may seek damages from you to the full extent of the law and you may be banned from participation in future Microsoft promotions.
12. PRIVACY
Personal data you provide to Microsoft while entering this Contest will be used by Microsoft and/or its agents and prize fulfillers acting on Microsoft’s behalf only for the administration and operation of this Contest and in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
13. GOVERNING LAW
This Contest will be governed by the laws of the State of Washington, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts of the State of Washington for any disputes arising out of this Contest.

If you need to rollback a Minecraft: Bedrock Edition world to before you enabled add-ons, a build was destroyed, or achievements were disabled, you can restore a previous backup or recreate your world from its world seed.

We’re making a small change to improve Realms stability.
Recently, we discovered that a small number of Realms used the server-admin scripting module in creative ways and at a commercial scale that is incompatible with Realms technical architecture and the Microsoft Services Agreement. As this usage grew, it placed sustained load on the service and contributed to the recent instability and outages players experienced.
What’s changing
To improve the Realms experience, Realms will no longer support the server-admin scripting module.
Joining and playing on Realms will continue to work normally, but experiences that relied on the sever-admin scripting module may no longer function in the same way.
Why we’re making this change
Realms is designed to help bring together friends and small communities to play together.
Realms is not intended to be used for very large or commercial operations. This type of usage creates growth patterns and system load that impact overall service stability, especially during peak play times.
Who will be affected?
Most players won’t notice any change.
A very small subset of Realms that relied on the server-admin scripting module as part of their setup may be affected.
How this helps going forward
Removing the server-admin scripting module allows us to better manage scale and performance, and will help Realms be more stable and reliable for everyone.

GLFW error 65542: WGL: The driver does not appear to support OpenGL
This error appears when your device's graphics driver does not support OpenGL, which Java Edition requires to run. You can fix this error with a compatibility pack.
When textures from resource packs do not load properly, Java Edition replaces them with pink and black checkered boxes. To restore missing textures, you may need to remove and then re-apply those resource packs. If available, we recommend re-downloading the packs from their source and replacing them in your pack folder. Follow these steps to access your pack folder and replace the texture files:
Garbage collection is a Java memory management tool that helps improve game performance. Beginning with Minecraft: Java Edition version 26.1-snapshot-1, the default garbage collector has changed. If you experience performance issues, you may want to switch back to the previous garbage collector.
When there’s an update for the Minecraft Launcher, it will normally download and install automatically when you open it. If the Launcher freezes or stalls while updating, here are suggestions to fix it.
If your launcher update still doesn’t complete after the Repair and Reset process, reset the Microsoft Store to fix other background processes the Launcher needs to update.
Minecraft uses Xbox services to deliver game updates. Running the Gaming Services Repair Tool can fix issues with updating the Launcher or Minecraft.

Any in-game screenshots you take can be viewed and managed from the Minecraft screenshots folder. Here’s how to take screenshots, where to find them, and how to delete them.
If you’ve modified your Hotkeys in Minecraft: Java Edition, your keyboard settings may be different.
Minecraft: Java Edition screenshots can only be viewed through your computer’s operating system in the “.minecraft” folder.

You may see unexpected behaviors if you use multiple Add-Ons in Minecraft, especially if they modify the same Minecraft asset.
For example, if you have two resource packs that modify how birch trees appear, the resource pack at the top of the list will take priority and determine their appearance—but this could conflict with another resource pack that depends on having birch trees appear in the way it expects.
When Add-Ons conflict with each other unexpectedly, it’s usually because they’re in the order you downloaded them. Here’s how to reorder Add-Ons to fix resource and behavior pack issues.

If the memory allocation for Minecraft: Java Edition doesn’t match your system’s available RAM or the game version requirements, you may experience performance issues, including crashes, lag, or stuttering.
You may want to change JVM arguments when:
For example, after version 26.1-snapshot-2, the default memory allocation for playing Minecraft: Java Edition changed from 2 GB to 4 GB. If your system has less than 4 GB of RAM, you need to manually change the allocated memory back to 2 GB to avoid crashes.
Memory allocation is editable in Java Edition by changing your JVM (Java Virtual Machine) arguments, accessed from the Minecraft Launcher. Always backup your Minecraft Worlds before troubleshooting or changing your game settings.
If you encounter errors when trying to launch Minecraft, compare the new value to the backup copy you made and check for syntax mistakes or case differences. You can return the JVM arguments field to its defaults by using the text file you created earlier and pasting its contents into the field. You can also revert changes if you Create a new Minecraft Java Installation to prevent game issues.

You can mute a player in-game through the Social Interactions menu.
You can also mute or block a player from the Xbox app. Instructions are available at How to mute or block other players on Xbox on the Xbox support site. Locate the On the Xbox app header, expand it, and expand Block another player.

Muting or blocking a player will hide their chat messages in game or in servers—and blocking a player will also prevent them from seeing your activity or accepting/sending your invites. Muting or blocking a player will not prevent them from interacting with you in-game; you will still be able to see and interact with each other’s characters in any shared worlds or Realms.

Muting is useful if you don’t want to see chat messages from a player, but you still want to be friends, or you want to only temporarily ignore a player’s messages.
Blocking a player will clearly end interaction between you and the blocked player.
The Minecraft Support Virtual Agent, known as Merl, is a conversational AI agent designed to help Minecraft players with their support questions related to Minecraft. Merl takes text or voice-based questions from players and uses generative AI to search through trusted knowledge bases (such as articles on the Minecraft Help website) to find the best answers. A player visiting the Minecraft Help website will see the green chat bubble button in the lower right corner of their screen, which when clicked will show a floating container with the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent chat experience.
The Minecraft Support Virtual Agent leverages Minecraft Help Article content to help players with their support questions. Players won’t need to wait in a support queue to use the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent. If more specialized support is needed than the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent can provide, it can facilitate a hand-off to a human support agent.
While the Support Virtual Agent can help answer player questions using trusted knowledge resources and provide live updates from a handful of Xbox and Minecraft services, the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent cannot take any action on behalf of the player at this time. Instead, the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent will summarize action steps and point players to the support resources that they need. When presented with questions outside its knowledge base, the Minecraft Support Virtual Agent may not be able to provide accurate answers.
