Do I Need to Re-Buy Minecraft?

You do not have to repurchase Minecraft if you haven’t played for a while or you’ve switched devices.

If you need to redownload the game, visit this page and follow the instructions for the version you prefer (or all of them, if you need to!)

Minecraft: Java Edition

Once you have downloaded the game again from the link above, select Log In from the upper left-hand corner of the launcher and get going!

Minecraft for Windows 10:

  1. Using your Microsoft account, sign into the Microsoft store on your PC.
  2. Click on the three dots in the Windows Store next to your profile picture.
  3. Go to My Library. If you already own the game, you can download it from there.

Minecraft for Xbox:

  1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select My games & apps > See all.
  2. Under Games, you will see all games you own.
  3. If a game you own has not yet been installed on your console, you will see a download icon on the game title. Selecting the title will prompt you to install the game if you want to play it.
  4. Play Minecraft!

Minecraft for PlayStation:

  1. Once you are logged in to your PlayStation account, on your console navigate to the PlayStation store.
  2. Search for ‘Minecraft’.
  3. Install the game when prompted. (If you already have the game installed the option to install will not be there.)

Minecraft for Nintendo Switch:

  1. In the home screen menu navigate to the Nintendo eShop application and launch it.
  2. Search for ‘Minecraft’ in the upper right.
  3. Select install making sure you do not have an existing copy of the game installed.

Minecraft for iOS:

  1. Launch the App Store on your device. Or you can click here and launch this on your device.
  2. Search for ‘Minecraft’
  3. Select ‘Install’ and launch the game when it is finished installing.

Minecraft for Android:

  1. Launch the Play Store on your device. Or you can click here and launch this on your device.
  2. Search for ‘Minecraft’
  3. Select ‘install’ and launch the game when it is finished installing.
